Looking into getting an Anderson shaft for an excal. I was wondering what you all prefer for water hunting. Do you like the control of under your forearm/elbow or do you like the long shaft that sticks out behind your arm? And why do you like it?

Thanks.

I had the over under. That is the one where the control is under your forearm. Easy to get at the controls, balanced a bit better. Still heavy if I had it all to do once more I would still buy the over under and a hip mount. I think it would be easy to swing and taken a loade of weight off. Plus it is easer to put in your car. Than the long one.

I have s home made straight shaft that works ok just looking at the Anderson's because people really seem to like them. Interested in difference between the two types.
Thanks for the info.

My primary Excal Sword is mounted on a aluminum Anderson over/under shaft. Perfect length, excellent balance and the controls are easily accessible if you ever need to change a setting while hunting...
