Default Ballground Ga Detecting

Iíve been detecting 25 yrs have a ctx 3030 and a Excalibur
I only Beach hunt but went to Ballground Ga over ten yrs ago when we had drought
Brought Excalibur and was excited to hunt low lakes
Found I could not get any depth at all even right on ground had to be within 2 inch
Tried different settings with no luck
I get 1.5 ft or better on beach coins and jewelry
Was less experienced back then but still very good beach hunter
Now family wants me to visit again and Iím wondering what was going on back then and if old houses would be better choice or if ground is different everywhere up there
Sorry so long didnít know how to say it with fewer words. Lol
Any input would be great
Plan on bringing Excalibur as I have 17 inch coil on CTX and Excalibur more travel friendly. Thanks Ron

Welcome from South Carolina !!!!

I'll leave your request for help to members with beach/water hunting experience, I've only done dry land so far.

CTX would be better suited in my opinion for that area of Georgia

But was hoping to be able to use Excalibur because Iím only going for 3 days and Excalibur would be pretty much turn on and go
Whatís with the ground ?..
Would the Excalibur not work
