Well Jim, that is quite a collection you have acquired there. It took me years of digging and trading to get that many good ones. I don't know if you are planning to display any of these, but a shelf display of just the 1870s blob sodas alone would be something to see. Then some of the more interesting corkers too. By now you may be starting to hone down what your favorites are? BTW, it would be cool if you show some of the hutches, if there are any?
I’m not sure that there are any of the Hutchinson style bottles. I think I pulled everything already with that look.
There are more that maybe I’ll get around to posting tomorrow. Some mills and ball and mason jars in the last batches I think.
I’m not sure what I’ll end up keeping and what I won’t. There are just too many to keep and this doesn’t include the 100s and 100s that are in boxes that I’m not even pulling out. I did read a few threads on another site that I think you’re a member of, where some guys that collect state bottles also are looking for ones with certain makers marks on the bottom.
Now I feel like I have to look for all marks so I don’t trash something that someone might appreciate
1. Chas J Gruber 2220 north 4th street
2. Penna Bottling & Supply Company
3. P Carr
4. L Hiellermann 412-14 N Orianna St (2 of these but they look different slightly)
Keeping the thread going with new bottles for today. Picked most of these up today just for the price of a cup of coffee to a guy I know. Two of them I paid 4 dollars each from a local shop.
Harvard Brewing Company "98" - I think this one is actually from 1898. Formans Bottling company Brooklyn NY, Narragansett brewing company Providence.
WM Holt & Sons Glenlivet Bottle and Mount Vernon pure rye whiskey
Dr Sigert & Sons - not sure on the age but it started in the 1800s. Citrate Magnesia, and unmarked green flask and a cough syrup.
Rubsam & Hormann Brewing company new york (2 of these). It looks like this was a brewery that was only in business for 20 years in the 30-50s. Unmarked blob-top that just says registered, a corbana bottle and an unmarked torpedo.
