Yep, that was my first thought too - I’m not convinced that the thumb ergonomics of that plate would prove to be comfortable on even a short hunt, let alone over the course of a full day. Almost looks like it’s just trading one fatigue factor for a different one. I’m constant pushing buttons on the control head - in and out of all metal mode, pinpoint mode, noise canceling. My thumb’s getting tired just thinking about constantly having to reach all the way around that plate.
Then my second thought, as a dirt digger, was all the joints and crevices the plate has for dirt and mud to hide in, and the extra time it would take to clean it out....
