Gold Panning

Great video! Inspires me to do the same!

Some folks here dry pan, using a good stiff breeze to blow away the dirt, leaving the gold behind were there's no water available.

I prefer to use a concentrator, quicker than the panning method, and less fussy than slucing.

To me it's well worth going for gold if you have the time, money for travel, and find a great place to start. Not too far from here a few blokes last summer panned for gold in a well known alluvial creek, and found their $600-$700 bucks a week, working the bottom of the creek and the cracks and crevasses.
Golden:D

Gold prospecting is a lot of fun. We share 12 claims in the area around Columbia, Ca.

We "wet sluice", as opposed to dry. We also bring raw ore home that we've "classified" and pan it in a "kiddie pool" on the side deck...great fun with coffee on a Sunday morning.
