cast iron with an eagle

A Buddy found this at a 1900's home site and is trying to figure out what it is part of and if it is from that time period.

It is heavy iron like but rusted badly. However it has an eagle with spread wings standing on an arrow with some letters underneath it. I told him I had no clue but bet someone on here would know pretty quick.

Any ideas?

Found a similar image on these antique irons. Maybe made by the same company or somehow a broken piece to an iron like this.

It is a heavy and thick piece so I think you are on to something there.
