I wanted to clean my detector but I couldn't get my upper part of my shafts apart. I finally after like an hour(literally) I finally get it apart. How can I get it to come apart easier? I couldn't believe how hard it was to just get it apart.

You might try to softly steel wool the shafts clean, to clear any debris that's on them before sticking them back together. Try spaying some WD-40 where the two halves come together. I use PB Blaster myself because it cuts through all the rust and grime when I clean and reset my shafts after a month using my MD in the sand and salt.

They seem to work apart easier with just a little lube....

I hope this helps.
