Default My Alaskan Lapidary (rock) page

Well if everyone is like me, when your out detecting you can't help put to pick up rocks.

I often go rockhounding with a detector in hand and find some interesting stuff... this year a 1.4 oz platinum nugget was the best find.

With all the stones I find detecting and looking for them I took up the art of lapidary and created this page.

In the materials you will see calcopyrite which I located with a detector, amazing stuff.

That sounds fun! My buddy goes around the local streams and finds native garnets and also makes jewelry with them. It's a cool side hobby and if done right can bring in a good side paycheck HH!
