I found this coin today 4 years after I found it, but has been left unidentified in my coin and token album because it was so melted and dirty. I was cleaning some of my coins, I was trying out different methods and after using the salt, vinegar and aluminum process some features of the coin appeared. I could see the base rock Liberty sat on and several stars. I can't make out a date but see enough designs to ID it as a seated Liberty quarter. I was elated because that coin has been on my bucket list since I started this wonderful hobby.

Awesome find and very good work on the cleanup! Gives me hope I may eventually find something like that around here in DFW area.

Congratulations on the seated quarter!

Did you know all along it was a silver coin?

Thanks, I suspected it was silver but it was so melted and covered in crud that I didn't even think about cleaning it. It wasn't until I was watching cleaning videos on youtube that I thought about cleaning. Really what did I have to lose.
