I just found the pewter continental army button at my old spot by the beach. The markings are nice and crisp. Anyone have an idea of its value? I’m not selling it but just wanted to have an idea for bragging rights [emoji14]

Congratulations on that find. They don't generally hold up that well. Acidic soil seems to chew em up good. I've found two, nowhere near that condition. Can you associate it with a particular battle or skirmish, based on where you found it? It's indeed a precious piece of history.
Value, no idea. It'd be a great addition to a Rev War display. You've found a tough one there.

Oh, that's a really old buckle part in the background. I'd guess early 1700's.

Unfortunately there were no recorded battles in the location where it was found. The only information I could find is that it was once a whaling processing town. It’s location was also at the entrance to a port. The British blockaded it during the war and put the whaling there out of business. The condition I assume is better then most since it was found in the ocean.
