This is the time of year

This is the time of year to approach owners of recreation areas that have beaches and ask for permission to hunt the beach. Reminding them you will remove all metal from the area. Metal which could cause serious injury to the users of the beach if they were to find it with a bare foot. This is how I got permission to hunt a local resort's beach area. The first time we did so, I brought what we had found to the owner to show him the squashed can with sharp edges, the fish hook and other hazardous finds. He was impressed. I will be calling him this week to remind him that me and my MD friends will be out on the sand again to clear the sand of hazards.

btw: We also found a set of KY Trapper Tags (used to identify the owner of a trap) and a Danish coin among other goodies.
