I dont really understand grading and value of coins but am facinated by the history behind the coin. I found this 1939D in some change, did a little research and found that there were only 3.5M minted does it hold some value? or is it a "key date"?. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Greg

in VF-20 condition red book has it listed as 10.00 . yours is way under VF id say you looking at 3-5$

If I were a key date collector I'd call it F-14 or so. And offer on the side of 3.50 or 3.75.
Its hard to sell circulated key dates to dealers, would probably just pass due to condition.

Thats my 5 cents = ) HH

Thanks for the input. It amazes me the amount of older coins still in circulation a few months back the drive through person handed me a war nickel and today I found a 1963 quarter at work.:dancing:

yup, that is one I have still been looking to find in circulation. 3 dates are hard to find 38-S, 39-D, and the 50-D. I'm still missing the 38-S and the 39-D.
