Indian, 2 buffs, 8 wheaties, flat button and sterling

Nice going again. The silver might be marked inside on the bottom of the cup. It looks sorta like a thimble but might be a cane tip as said. A lot of thimbles are marked "Simon"
 
I still say its a salt shaker. I can't imagine a paper thin sterling cane tip. It would wear through on its maiden voyage. Here's a couple pics of the shaker I found back in '85.
