i want a good metal detector for $100 or less. it will be my very first detector so i don't want to spend a whole lot of money. besides i want to to see if i like metal detecting or not.

thank you

i would to buy one at a store rather than ship it (i would be to afraid it would break in shipping process)

Check around for the Bounty Hunter Tracker IV. Costs about $100. I started out with it and did great, and I still use it.

Not sure if you find it locally but I wouldn't worry about buying it online. I got mine on Amaxon. They box it up pretty good, and if it arrived broken you can just send it back.

Don't worry about shipping damage....

You could also try a Dick's Sporting Goods if there's one near you.
Best would be to see where the nearest detector dealer is in relation to you. It's always better to get some hands on experience and one on one advice.

unless you go used you are not getting a great detector for under 100.00. I would suggest a Tesoro Compadre or Garrett Ace 150 to start with. They would give you a better idea of whether or not you'll like hunting.
