Default Meteorite?

Has anyone uncovered a meteorite yet? I'm pretty sure I did tonight & I'll post pictures in a few to the "Help ID my find" section later on. I brought it in & cleaned the dirt off it & it has all the signs of being the real deal. It has black charring on it from being so hot & you can tell it was once in a molten condition. It's roughly the size of a dime. I was just curious if these were common or rare?

Now I'm stumped because it's not magnetic.

Read those sites. 10% aren't magnetic. And they are very rare to find in the US.

Without a pic, it's hard to say.
