Got out yesterday for a short hunt at a small house I have permission at and picked up a 43P war nickel and some junk rings. That was silver #6 from that tiny yard.

Today it is beautiful weather so I had to get out. Knoxville schools are on spring break so I hit the most heavily hunted school in Knox...amazing 1930s build. I was going to be happy if I got a wheat. Not many targets any more. Got a couple deep wheats in an area that seemed to have some original soil. Then I got a deep squeaker hitting 3 ways from 93-96 on the Deus. Found a nice 1903O Barber Dime at about 8”. Totally shocked. That place has probably been hunted thousands of times.

Congrats on the silver and finds and way to find that barber from the pounded school. Congrats!

Thanks Jam. When I found the wheat I considered it a successful hunt. When I got that sweet deep squeaker sound I got excited.

Very nice hunt. Like that Barber!!!

What coil were using with your Deus?

Thanks DDN. I only have the 9” stock coil.

Congrats Jerry on adding 2 more to the count. That Barber is a great reminder no place is totally hunted out. Trapper

Thanks Trapper. I went with the intent of getting something others had missed, there ain’t much but that Barber made my day.

Nice saves Jerry, congrats. I love finding silvers with the O mint mark.
Not sure if you've ever visited New Orleans but that old mint is now a museum. Very cool walking through and checking it out. During the summer they have concerts on different stages around the building and there are always crawfish boils going on simultaneously. Awesome place to kill a few hours, highly recommended.
