Pro-Pointer tip mod

I still have a few of these left! I've sent these to 8 different people so far and most have been to people in Pennsylvania!

You do not have to file down the scraper for these to fit. I did mine because it looks better.

I have both black and orange and I don't require anything in return!

PM me your address.

I got some of the tip protectors and they work great on my Pro-Pointer. The orange is really easy to see if you lay your pinpointer down while digging your plug. If your thinking about getting a cover from Planedoc go for it. It's a nice addition to my detecting equipment.

If anyone wants one PM me your mailing address and I'll send it to you!! I have about a dozen.

You can send me back whatever you think it's worth!!

Keep in mind I collect $1 casino chips. (If there happens to be a casino near you!)

The casinos are all around me...I just never leave with a dollar.

This is what I use if it starts to wear give another coat I put two coats on and see no signs of wear

I've been using truck bedliner on my pinpointers for a couple years now, works great. i also use it to coat my coils

I've been lurking around here for a while and have noticed several threads about prolonging the life of the tip on a Pro-Pointer. Here's how I did it:

I work in the aircraft business. When we change out or build oxygen, hydraulic, water lines and we use new fittings they usually come with thread protectors that we throw away. I was thinking that these would be great for the Pro-Pointer!

I filed down about 1 inch of the scraper flush with the body. Then just slid the protector on. It's a fairly tight fit and does take a little effort to get off. I like the orange color. It would make it easier to find if you misplaced it.

The inside diameter on the protector is .875.

My X-pointer came with 4 black tips just like those...i havent even begun to wear out the 1st one i put on it

Bumping an old thread! Since the original post I've relocated back to Kansas. I have traded in my AT Pro for an XP Deus. I still have a ton of these available. All you need to do is PM me your address and I'l get a couple out to you.

I need to mention that these fit the XP MI-6 pinpointer like a glove!!

Can't say I've noticed any wear on my tip. I do however dig in the finest, richest soil on the east coast most of the time. I did just want to say, Kudo's to planedoc for taking the time to send these tips out to those that do need them. Atta boy planedoc!

After over three years I don't have any wear on mine. I coated it with bed liner several years ago. Still the added protection of a tip can't hurt.
