Well, as my signature said, I just recently picked up my first detector off of Craig's List and I've done what I presume everyone does the first time and swept through my backyard trying to get a feel.

Living in Savannah I'm blessed to have a wealth of potential sites I just need to figure out what the rules are (federal land, parks, etc), which I'm sure I'll find with a forum search.

Anyway, glad to be here and looking forward to participating.

Welcome from one Georgia NEWBIE to another. I have only been on here a couple of days myself and my first MD will be here Monday or Tuesday. Seems to be lots of friendly people here. HH Dale :welcome2:

Thanks for the tip. I was reading up on the ins and outs of getting permission here on the boards and I understand why the rules are so strict and think it's a shame that a few bad apples really have made it more difficult for everyone.
 
Hello from Sweet Home Alabama!

I spent a week in Savanah last April, while there I went to Tybee Island, out in front of the lighthouse, I found a couple of rings and lots of change.
