My 67 Washington got the reject from coinstar I weighed it at 5.25g a clad weighs 5.65g and a silver at 6.15g what's the deal? Anyone ?

Some of those older quarters are odd.just dug a 67 i thought was silver.65's can really fool you sometimes. These new ones are probably recycled copper with all sorts of allows in minute particles.

nope tried that to its got alot of red on it doesnt wash off with soap water and cant tumble it since i sold my tumbler im still confused tomm ill post a pic prob wont help either

by red do you possibly mean copper colored? could be missing the clad layer would explain a different color and lower weight i would think

Red?

I have seen red quarters before. A friend of mine owned a video game arcade and the machines were not all his. If he gave someone a free game, he used a quarter with fingernail polish on it to mark it as a free game. The owner of the machine would return those to him when he came to get the coins out.

They were standard weight quarters, though.
