What era is this button? There is no markings on the back or writing.

First we need to see the back of the button. It is very important with those "US Navy" buttons. Meaning it may or may not be Navy.

Ok, the type of "shank" that you have on your button makes it for sure a fashion button. Many of the Navy buttons were copied for blazers, particularly to be worn by those who were members of yacht clubs. I would think your date is fairly modern.

I've found a few buttons with eagles and anchors before. They all turned out to be fashion buttons too.

There must have been a big fashion trend of those things, once!

Fashion style buttons are often made to look like military ones; I had one of those heart stopper moments about a month ago!
