dfx hits silver .dirt destroys shovel

Got out yesterday for a few hours to a local park that has been good to me in the past.
I have found a silver washington and a nice silver ring plus a ton of clad here.

Yesterday I was pullin clad as usual and I got a 71 - 82 signal on my whites dfx (love this machine).the signal said roughly 6 inches deep .
So I dug my plug and scooped some dirt and yall know that feeling when you see a coin thats not crusty lol.
Out popped a 41 merc .I was a happy camper .the worm was not bait for the coin lol or maybe it was lol
I did a grid of the area and got a crusty wheaty a few feet away from the merc ..
Digging the wheaty I bent my shovel .I was shocked cuz I thought this brand was invincible.
Either way it was a good day .just stinks my shovel bit the dust.

Nice finds. You did well. A Garrett digger may look like a Lesche, but that is about as close as it gets. By the way I have also bent a Lesche. A Sampson digger is the best I have found.

I love garret products but I gotta say im disappointed with the shovel.
Im thinking I might talk to my friend who is a welder fabricator and see if he can make me a custom shovel.

Mine did the same thing a few weeks in. The Garrett and the Lesche have both bent like that. I need to just buy a Sampson also.

I put my garrett in a vice and wacked it straight with a sledge hammer .its straight but I think ill jist keep it as a garden trowel .

Congrats on the silver! My Garrett shovel did the same thing, I bent it back and have been using it for about 6 months since with no issue.

For cutting plugs, I use a Lesche. For moving dirt, I use a Predator Tools Raptor.

Carry both of those and you have the ability to deal with just about any situation!

Congrats on the Merc. I have a DFX and get good depth with my D2 coil using mixed mode. I pull pretty hard on my Lesche but haven't hurt it yet.
