I have hunted with the DFX for 3 years in the Upstate of South Carolina don't know how well the adjustments will work in the Low Country.If I were you I would start at my hunting spot ground balance and start raising AC sens and DC sens till it becomes erratic then back off a little and hunt.If a little chatter doesn't bother you then you will find lots of coins and jewerly that other detectors have missed.You can always back off a little at a time if the chatter bothers you till you get it like you want.I usually run pre amp at 3 but you will have to see what works best for you,you may be able to get to 4 as I have never hunted the Low Country.Best of Luck to You and your Brother.Ken
