Hi all, I'm relatively new to the site and this is my 4th year of detecting. I prefer to keep away from modern stuff (and by modern I mean anything newer than 1917)
Im also more or less metal detector hoarder, currently have all kinds of stuff from Minelaband Garret to XP and even Whites TDI and i love 'em all. They have their places.
I live right next to the arctic circle, literally like 2 kilometers away from it. Here you can and will find stuff from WW2 through Russian and Swedish rule all the way to the iron age. Attached photo is about a 35% silver coin from 1591 when Finland was part of Swedish empire.
I prefer to hunt fields and forests but every now and then wading is not too bad idea either, that's where the gold is
I would love to detect in many other countries as well, so far i have been in Sweden and Denmark but why not somewhere far away..
