I’ll take a crack at this, just my experience..I run heavy disc in parks, and use a dd coil.not so bad as long as you go slow.Somtimes coins will sound good but clipped in the audio with a lot of disc,,but I just hit all metal and it helps clear it up,,then hit all metal again and I’m back to my previous pattern.
I also hunt in all metal in trashy places,,depending on the trash I run 3 tone or 99 tones..99 tones really lets the high tones stand out. When I do that I still notch out iron and number 48.
The xterra is a really great machine,I have one now, have had and sold others..Always come back cause they work..Nel coils work great on the 705,the tornado 12x13 and the sharpshooter 5x10 are really good,,along with Minelabs 10.5...I’m running the tornado now and just dug a hard hitting 9 inch merc last week.No doubt a coin was down there,ID was textbook..
I use mostly 7.5 coils, they seem to work the best for me,and a great all around frequency.Im looking to get a high frequency coil though, and see how it does in my parks.
The thing about the 795 is it’s so customizable.I usually run sensitivity around 22 to 25,,even at 20 it’s deep.No use in going above 25,don’t think you’d gain anything but chatter.
Patterns are great, but run the one with the least disc for now,3 or 4 tones and I’m sure you’ll get the best results.
