I have been digging union and confederate bullets in same area. I dug 2 flying eagle pennies 1857, 1858 next to it. I also dug a toasted colonial copper next field over. I know the farm covers a few generations. this buckle is heavy and thick, appears to have had studs or tabs on the back side. thanks for any help or thoughts.
thanks, I though about the same thing. but I wasn't sure how wide they were? someone sent me this picture..... said its from an 1855 riflemans belt. ive never found a stirrup.... so wasn't sure.
