Found this in yard dating 1890. Thought it is some type of costume jewelry or ceremonial. Didn't see anything on back that would indicate a pin or button. Any thoughts?

I would guess a civic organization medallion, but which one?

Maybe something that had a backing to it? Like this piece was held in place on a bigger medallion piece??

more info

the house it was found at is in the West Chester, PA area. I was thinking the same thing that it may have been attached to something else like some sort of decorative piece.

Possibly some type of grave marker medallion.

The general shape is typical of the Guards regiments in the UK.

With the Fleur de Lis I would guess French. Also the red, white and blue colors.
