Found these near a hotel built near medicinal spring from late 1800’s Found there are 1886, 1903, 1904, 1917 coins. The medallion looks to be brass or copper, is thin and has no words on it, thought someone may recognize.
The lead ball has a spur and some patina but not much. Any thoughts on use.
Thanks
Charles

Looks like it is around .44 cal. Could be pistol or squirrel rifle ammo. Looks unfired because I can't see any signs of rifling marks. The "spur" on the ball is called a sprue and is the remnant of the channel that fills the ball mold with lead when it is cast. The molds frequently had a blade that would slide over the mold face to cut the sprue filling off.
