Default Mineralization, depth and detector-coil choices

Hello. I live in california and have an At-Pro. I am basically happy with the AT-Pro. But I think I might be a bit hogtied by my local soil. My ground balancing regularly runs into the 90's..out of 100. I have never found coins much deeper than 6, maybe 7 inches. I have a pile of clad but nothing older. In a previous post I touched on this and another member stated that he had the same conditions and depth...and that his Safari pretty much got the same depths. My question is...would a gold-specific detector or coil help this? Arent they meant to do better in higher mineralized soils? X-terra 705 with the gold-pack coil? Teknetics G-2? At-Pro gold?
