Question Tesoro Cibola and gold nugget hunting...

I have the cibola with stock coil and would like
to know what chances would i have to use it
on the river for hunting small gold nuggets.
I still don't know exactly how much mineralization
the grond has,but let's say very low to low mineralized
ground ....
Any ideas are welcome

Thanks Terry,
for the next year I'm planning an MD adventure and
these gold zones are tempting near to where I want
to go.I only know people has got in the past tiny nuggets
by goldpanning,
but I don't think someone has tried these rivers with an MD...

PS.:
I just found this Youtube link for the ACE250 and a gold nugget:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEdGWFisbVA
If the ACE can do it, the supertuned Cibola with no doubt can
do it as well !

Never hunted nuggets, but my opinion would be the smaller coils would lose a little depth, but would be much more sensitive to small pieces.

How about a Cibola with a small/wide scan coil?
Gold nuggets seem to be almost always near surface at
the river banks

Discrimination might suffer a little with a wide scan, it is said to do that with the larger coils, but my 10X12 DD on my Vaq still seems to pick up stuff pretty well...small stuff too.

I think the smaller ones are better at this, and I love the wider field.

Default Dedicated Gold Machines

At our school in Arizona (ArizonaGoldAdventures.com) we use the Tesoro Lobo SuperTRAQ as our dedicated VLF machine, with the stock 10" Eliptical coil. This machine will find a BB-size picker at 8" !!!!!!!

If the nugget/picker is big and shallow enough, ANY machine can find it. It is the .5-gram and smaller that you'll miss!
