Default Atpro After upgrade

So I got my AT pro upgraded and gone through as it had taken on water and needed service. Since it was already there I choose to have it upgraded. I like the new longer arm cuff even though I am only 5'7'' the longer arm cuff helps out with control. Now the bad... When Garrett went through my machine they had to change the control board as that was what got wet. Unfortunately they upgraded to the new factory "standard", this new main board changed the tones , as I was told by the CS rep the tones are "smoother" , personally I do not like the new "smoother" tones.

Another thing that I found was a bad move, was the cam lock, old locking pin style middle rod again. If anyone has used this machine in a beach setting they know that the holes in the center shaft collect sand, making the shaft almost impossible to take back apart. I think that Garrett should have did the cam lock upgrade with a solid center shaft removing the holes for the spring locks. making it harder for sand to enter the thin space between the shafts.

Unfortunately even after the "new" used machine was returned the sad rainbow effect started after about 2 hours of use. this time was much worse than the previous time. I am learning to deal with that.

Please let me know of your experience with the "new" upgrades and how you feel about them. I am now relearning my old machine.. Still after that elusive IH penny.

After my upgrade I find that quartes ID 87-89 they were 85-87 before the upgrade. I don't really like the lower cam lock doesn't seem to have enough thread comes apart to quick.

I never had problems with the shaft or detector prior to the upgrade I sent it in because the headphone plug broke. So i figured kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
