Default Old house find. What is it?

Found this at an old house site. Dont have a clue what it is.

How big is it?? Looks familiar. Could it be the top to an old fancy iron gate, or fence?

Looks to me like a brass finial from an old piece of furniture. They were popular on clocks, highboys, etc.

I found a brass finial similar to that. I assume it probably came off of a bedstead.

Its about 4 inches long and made of brass. The newest coin i have found at the site is a 1895IH

Being brass and 4" I would say as someone else already has, that it's a top of an old brass bed. I would think if it were off of a clock, it would be a tad more dainty. The weather vane is a possibility, but weren't they mostly copper and steel? I know........I'll bet it's a tinkerdowhat for a dillymetterfiscus!!!
