Unhappy Slim pickings

Went out today, the wind was blowing up something fierce but not a bad day weatherwise. The take however was pitiful I really expected some decent finds from this farmhouse but so far all I am pulling in is junk of one sort or another. I am finding pieces of siding everywhere, large pieces of iron that ring up as coins and I leave there really disheartened. All I found today was a 68 penny, a buckle, an old bottle and a "handle" of some sort. I did drive out to the beach but it is really remote out in this area and by myself, just didn't seem like a wise move so I came home. Hope you all did better than I did. HH

I like the buckle. There should be stuff there, just get rid of the junk. I know, easier said than done.

Sometimes a house had few people to lose things. One time we found almost nothing at an old house and a neighbor finally came over and said the 2 people who lived there had no kids and were there forever.
Sometimes things just are not there. Good choice not to stay at the beach, Steve in so az

Spittfire, I've hunted several old houses and farm sites where I couldn't even turn up a '68 penny. I just move on to the next one and find something better there

Been there spitfire, my in-laws house is just like that, picked only a couple of pennies, the previous owner was widowed without any kids .........

I know the feeling myself. Last week I wasn't even finding coins, and I thought to myself, I really stink at MD. I felt disheartened, than I found my IH. Good days and bad days I guess. Don't give up, you still found something. I like the bottle.

Red face Todays a new day!

Thanks for the encouragement, I was feeling sorry for myself. These places look like they have so much potential that it does let you down when you find very little! But today I get to see where the old Tollgate was so maybe things will be better there. Forgot my camera though so I will post when I go back. Thanks Guys and Gals!

Sites like that are a pain in the sometimes. Especially when you "know" there are goodies there. When you do find a good one in a place like that they are extra special though, after all that hard work. Don't give up without a fight.
