Default Today's Delaware River Canal Finds

First off hello everyone, I'm new here and just getting into MDing. I recieved a Whites Classic SL II for christmas years ago and have just been putting it back to work now that I'm putting more effort into finding better locations.
Anyway, heres what I found today while searching a stretch of the Del River Tow Path that was dried out. Im guessing that they're fishing sinkers but how old are they and are they even worth anything??

Also I need some advice, I keep pulling up tons of aluminum cans, is there a way I can set either the DISC or SENS nobs that I can avoid aluminum and still pick up better metals? Also I keep hearing about some guy, Mr. Bill, who does mods, is it worth him modding this MD and about how much would that run?

Thanks alot everyone!

I'm thinking they're something else besides sinkers - there wouldn't be any reason to make sinkers that look like fish - maybe some type of old fishing lure. I see some signs of rust at the tail end, maybe there was a hook there.

yep old lures see the bend in them makes them swim when pulled through the water, probably were painted when new, hooks would have been at the end sure are fossils good find.

unfortunately aluminium is something to get used to seeing full cans though will be a great big signal so if after coins and jewellery can pass them by, small bits um guess we have to dig to see?

If you're getting a very very loud signal, Chances are they are a big object like cans pipes or even a treasure chest! What you got there is a swimming lure. Mr. Bill has retired....he closed his website....don't know if he is still doing the mods thing, But try giving him a call (508)457-4805 tell him I sent you. wtg

A river could be interesting. I imagine a lot of junk though. Keep us posted on how you come out.

Those look like trolling spoons. Old ones too. Cool find!
