Default First 2011 sidewalk tear-up

Yesterday, at a very small one in my hood. Got skunked on coins and my first find was a huge lump of coal LOL. Got another nickel hit and about 1'' down on the parkway popped up a junk ring. Second faux ring that rang up as a nickel. Funny thing is I lost it inside the house so after retracing my steps to no avail I looked through the garbage can and there it was. I picked up some garbage in the house and when I tossed it in the can, so went the ring D'OH.

Looks like a NV maker's mark. It is a size 8, says so on the inside

You know, it could be a custom made piece as it is very unusual. I had some scrap gold melted down once and made into a ring and I don't believe they put a karat number on it. Also, if it is very very old they didn't always put a .925 or 10K on the inside. Is that area pretty old? The ring looks real to me but I dunno. Great find either way!

Definitely not silver - that rings up in the dime to quarter range and getting pitted on the side so definitely not gold.

Just got back from the post office where I saw another tear-up. !!!!, still dark when I go to work in the AM so I can only hope it isn't one of those rip one day, pour the next. Then again last time they had some major work going on I found next to nothing in several blocks of tear ups. This time it looks like it just may be mini-me ones here and there.
