Brought out MD after 5 years and first day find !
I bought a White's Classic IDX around 2000 and used it for a few months during that summer. I found a few coins but nothing spectacular. I put it up and didnt' use it until today. A friend suggested that we go look at a house that was going to be demolished next week. He wanted to buy the property. I passed by the detector hangining on the garage wall and said what the heck, I'll bring it along. I loaded it with fresh batteries and off we went. When we arrived, my buddy got out and started to look at the property. I got the White's out of the trunk and started in the back yard. There was a lot of old wood back there, but fortunately no metal laying on top. I hit a few pennies and 1 quarter, but nothing great. Just as we were about to leave, I saw the foundation of an old shed. I walked over and started at the front. In about two swings, I got a hit. The IDX said it was silver and I thought ok, lets dig a plug. I rolled the grass back and staring me in the face about two inches down was a circular ring about 3'' across. it had indentations all around I thought it might be just some old wiring. I picked it up and realized that it was a wrist bangle. I cleaned it up with my rag and put a magnet to it. It did not stick!
I got excited and we jumped in the car to go to the house. I immediately cleaned it up and realized then I had a decent find. I took it over to a jeweler at the local flea and he confirmed it was sterling silver. Now I've got the bug again and am going to try to find a group somewhere here in Cincinnati. I had forgotten why I got the detector in the first place and already have the fever again ! Monty55

Welcome back to the Hobby Monty 55. I am glad that you have revived you MDing fever. I see a purple coin.

oh yea, you might as well go buy some rechargeable batteries and a charger. you're hooked for good now.
