Default Md problem

I haven't used my bounty hunter pioneer 202 since fall. I put in new batteries yesterday with the spring-like temps in Ohio & I get no power ?? This unit has worked great for a bh. Checked the connections & everything looks OK. Anyone know what I can try to get this to turn on ? Any help is greatly appreciated. Do'nt have the $ to buy another unit . I tried the bh phone#800-449-5994 & nobody ever answers. I don't know much about electronics so I'm bummed on this one. Thanks.

Hopefully the old batteries didn't leak, did they?

No leakage at all , bright & shiny battery connections . Been sitting , waiting patiently in spare room , hasn't even been moved ?

I would try some different batteries, because sometimes even what you think are new batteries do not work. No power. Not too often but it does actually happen once in a while.

Yeah, I tried different batteries- all new. Knob clicks on but nothing. Tried with the headphones in & out. PLayed around with the battery wires hoping for a bad connection but still no dice. Don't know what else to try.

Have you tried disconnecting the coil and switching it on?

If you power up the 202, will the LCD show some spots very fast and then everything is blank again?

No sound , no lights, nothing. It's like turning it on with no batteries in. It takes two 9-volts so it can't be hooked up wrong. Also tried with the coil unplugged. I took the screws out & the board slides halfway out. I can see the guts & wiring but nothing looks loose or diconnected. Visually everything "looks" OK. Frustrating.

Sorry, no help here. Think there is need for some service.
