They say right on the website you can dig holes on the beach, up to knee deep, you can also pay for a permit to take your vehicle on the beach. I don't feel someone with a metal detector will make more of a mess than a F-250

Seems pretty inconsistent to me. We gotta keep the pressure up for reasonable regulations...

Not only do you have to worry about federal antiquities laws, most states have rules as well. That is why I am surprized to hear so many stories, even in regards to beaches. Surprized the government hasn't found a way to stop all metal detecting.

Just be good little robots and sit at home and buy healthcare with your unemployment check.

Free the Metal Detectorists.

Repeal Antiquities Laws.
