Default New X-TERRA 50

Got my new Minelab X-TERRA 50 today and I look forward to getting out in the field. I bought it from TC Metal Detectors. Tony was great to deal with. Thanks Tony.

Manganos, the 250 went the way of the trade in, sniff. :o(
Well Hoser now that you mention it I'm not as quick to change my avatar as I am to change my detectors. I think the new one will be more generic and true to my metal detecting ability. I know, it will show me holding a rusty can.

Hi Terry, think your gonna enjoy the X Terra. With a quick recovery speed, excellent tone id, light weight, and small coil it should be a real trash killer in my opinion. The Pinpoint mode seems to have solid lock-on even with 9" coil in a congested target area and the continuous depth readout while in search mode is real nice feature that is a great help finding better targets mixed in with deep iron and modern drops .
You may get the impression that i'm a trash hunter and Yes i am but i also feel the X Terra 50 gets very good depth with the 9" coil and found IH's and a few Buff Nickels at about 6" in heavy iron contaminated and hotrock sites where other detectors were more static than the defined signals of the X Terra.
Anxious to read your impressions after a little time on it. Good Luck with it. HH Bill

Thanks for the tips Bill. I want to get more time with it under my belt so I can make an informed report.
