Default quick newb iron question

Hey guys,
Before i head out detecting I wanted to ask for a little insight into an issue I foresee in my huntings. I live in Jersey which as most of you probably know is the bog iron capital of the world lol. Is there any tips to avoid endless digging of chunks of useless bog iron? For those who aren't aware of this plague, New Jersey was once a haven for the iron production business in the 1800's. The ground here is marshy and littered with conglomerate stones chock full of iron in them. They were then smelted down and the iron removed from the conglomerates.

I'll be buying a Garrett ACE 250 from Tony as soon as the income tax check comes to the door (hopefully in a few days)

HEY...HEY...HEY easy on us Bounty Hunter users Poppy...I have no qualms with pitting it up against anything else out there. You prove to me that there is a better performing one and I'll buy it. Mine is 12 years old and I'm looking to add another to my arsenal. When it comes to finding good targets amidst iron it works very well.

sorry, I wasnt trying to bash either machine ...... I have the firm belief that whatever you use if you spend enough time learning the nuainses of that machine then you will suceed, I know guys that could find coins with a 9 volt battery and a darn broomstick , whatever you use and do well with is what you should be using . I wasnt trying to smash up either unit ........

wow, do we ever get defensive of our machines.... our tectors are kinda like having a snaggletoothed kid or something... you will be able to discriminate out iron with your 250 I believe... just play with your settings...
