Prison Key...It was buried by a prison Guard so if he ever got locked up his wife could smuggle it to him in a cake...

Probably a prop from "attack of the fifty foot woman" Daryl Hannah. Come to think of it you might try that line on her; "Is this the key to your heart?".................looks like this thread has run its course.....

Yeah I think they should "lock" this thread and throw away the key.

Could well be old jailer/prison keys. The size is right and the warded design fits.
