I'd probably buy a Tejon. (I wouldn't get rid of my Vaquero.)

But I'm going to pick one up in the future anyway.

I would like to try an Infinium and a Nautilus DMC IIB though.

I think I would take a Minelab GPX 4500 Metal Detector. Then I would sell it immediately for $4000 and get a V3 and an E-Trac. But seriously... I checked them both out today at my local dealer. The V3 was lighter than I imagined and the menu was pretty intuitive. The E-Track "felt" heavier. Maybe it was the squishy handgrip or just the way it is balanced. The thing about either of those detectors is, I would probably hunt in AM or minimum DISC, so I really can't justify spending that much (yet). I think I would go with the V3 mainly so I would "know" what frequency I was using.

I have owned about every Tesoro model except the Cortes, I would like to try one some day. Gessh you would think the Tesoro factory would send me one for all the advertising I have done for them over the years

The Golden Umax. It puts out so much info without having to look at a meter, has the famous Tesoro characteristics, gives this info in the a/m mode tonewise, gives notch in tough situations and can still be used as a beep-dig machine. It's 3 detectors in one. And if you're still fussy about them, Steve, send me one and I'll end your misery.

If I had one I would send it to ya, I do like my Tesoro's but the Golden uMax is not one of them.

I buy what ever detector I want. There is no one best detector believe me. Besides that, what is my dream detector may be your nightmare. I love my E-Trac for hunting deep coins in parks and yards. The F70 is my favorite for field hunting. My MXT and Spectra are great all around machines, I can use anywhere. My Tesoro Compadre is my go to machine for winter time hunting on sledding hills. I'm glad I don't have to pick just one, it would be tough.

I might try an xp Goldmax Power one day and I would also like to try an F75 but even if I could afford to spend £1000+ on a new machine I dont think I would.Starts to become a very expensive hobby then.Largely though not totally paid for my last machine from £1 coin finds.Collection is up to £48 again +1/4 ounce of gold(st christopher).Come March who knows.

I already have the one I want, the MXT. I like doing a variety of types of detecting. If I could have any other one, and still keep the MXT, I would probably get a Minelab GPX 4500.

Well I may as well shoot for top of the line and say a V3, but more realistically, I'd like to go for a DFX.
I have no expierence with Minelab detectors, but I could probably be swayed over to the E-Trac if I got to actually handle one.

It would be the White's Dual Field P.I. or the Minelab Excalibur II for sure, because I am in Florida and I am around beaches all the time. Still saving up for one. lol

a cross between the ace 250 and the minelab explorer se pro as i can use them both great im using the se at the moment but always wonder if the ace would find the little silver that the se missed or the other way round so a mix of the 2 would be my ideal machine
