Just thought i would show you where im detecting right now.This is the field i found that bronze roman coin .The coin you can see in the hole is a victorian penny,quite common

Come to Oklahoma, you will never complaing about digging in the UK again BTW, I like where you're hunting. Nice and quiet, no rednecks yelling at you or peeling out in their pickup trucks. I've hunted pasture land before and I like it very much compared to hunting in town. Ticks and chiggers are a different story however. :o(

one good thing about pastureland is that if it ancient pasture then any post items are usually in superb condition due ot lack of ploughing and chemicals on the land...
on ploughed and stubble fields we over here in the UK dig loads of manky georgian copper coins from those huge 1797 cartwheel pennies to farthings... had tins full of the damn things and weighed em in for scrap years ago. what do you do with yours si? |
