Indian game ball or marble?

This could also be from an old pottery kiln. Back when utilitarian potters would put lots of crocks, jugs, jars, etc., in their groundhog kilns, they would stack the items in the kiln and separate them with clay 'marble' balls. These would not be perfectly round, because that was not their purpose. But the kids that got them from the potter didn't care - they were free, and to the potter they were waste.
