Default Guess who's back? Back again...

Hey all! Got back into VA yesterday evening and felt it was finally time to post up my finds from my trip to TX... which BTW was great... not so much on the MDing part, but everything else.

I only really hunted for maybe an hour on two seperate days. The 100+ temps were brutal while I was down there. I hunted mostly the front yard of my parents 1930s farmhouse, and to tell you the truth, I was rather disappointed. I almost felt like I was hunting wet sand. I had to set the sensitivity wayyy down and the entire yard seemed to be hitting every swing. I found tons of iron items, like nails, an old trowel shaped tool, a few license plates (wierd). A handful of 30-06 casings, along with some slag. I only found 2, yes TWO pieces of clad. A 1970 penny and a 1989 dime.

THe only really two things I found worth keeping in my stash were a bent pin that either says Lucky or Luciky, and a 1991 Bacchus token from Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

Hope you like the pics.

Lots of iron, plus the red dirt is highly mineralized. At least you had a nice trip!

Odd, some can and some can't. The URLS are the ones provided from our gallery... like if you view an image and below it it has the code to put the pic in a post. Anyhow, just go HERE, it's the first 6 pics in the album.

Welcome back Jimmy,

I saw the pics perfectly. Too bad about the hunting, but visiting family is sometimes nicer.

I'll take that pull tab.

It was especially nice. I got to see my parents and my dad's side of the family, which I haven't seen in about 7 years. Had a blast hanging out... even got surprised by showing up to a family reunion Also checked out a couple Rangers games, visited my dad's work (Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station), and had a lot of good down home local food at places that reminded me of most anything you'd see on Food Networks Diner's Drive-Ins & Dives.

And I got to swing a lil', not to much avail, but I got my fix.

Welcome to the wonderful world of trying to use the auto ground balance ACE250 in heavily mineralized ground. It's a known "feature" of the Ace series that they just do not perform well in mineralized ground, and they love, and I mean LOVE, hot rocks. I swapped mine for a Tesoro Comapdre just because of this. The Ozarks should be renamed "the Iron Mountains".
