We hit another local beach today and as usual, this beach didn't turn up anything aside from three modern pennies (which we were still grateful to find!). So we decide to drive around the general area to see if we can spot a park or some place that we would feel comfortable digging since that area is over 100 years old. We find a large open grass area with some very old trees, a small excavated spot and some paved pathways.
We found several coins off the bat as we were walking the massive grounds. Then, we stumble upon what looked like the 1800's abandoned Asylum that we were looking into on the 'net some 2 weeks ago! We were like, "is that it? is that it?". We walked closer and sure enough, it was! Some reason we thought it was clear across town about 20 miles, and here it was hidden in the back of the main highway out of view!
The asylum itself is a sight to see. Beautiful architecture, handmade glass windows, bell towers, and just plain pretty to look at not to mention huge (the length is a city block long). So anyway, here's our finds for the day. There's a silver button with a rhinestone centered in it, ya, thought it was something at first

We haven't even scratched the surface so we plan to go again tomorrow.
