The first one is an ESSO pump, you can see the before and after picture. I have included some pictures of some more than I will be doing. Also the '56 Chevy that is in one of the pictures is my next major project. I do these for other collectors. Now you can see why I have been pretty inactive with my metal detecting as of late.

That Esso looks sweet, we have 2 visible pumps on our property here that we really need to get off the pad and into storage, glass is still good and all parts are there. That Chevy will be an eyeturner when finished I bet

I have redone 2 of the visible pumps. It took me about 25 hours on each of them. This is if they don't have to many major dents or rusted out areas. Thanks for the comment.

The pumps look great.I hope your going through those old cars real good.Behind those seats ,under the floor mats, between the seats etc...might be some silver coins.

I was 14 years old the summer of 1968, and had a job pumping gas, checking tires and oil. I must have pumped a small ocean of gasoline that summer. Regular was 24.9 per gallon and ethyl was 25.9 per gallon.
On the 56 chevy, you had to turn the center chrome rib in the L. tail light to get to the gas filler. The tail light assembly then would swing back. Ah, the good old days! HH, John Morton |
