Default Tot lot redo question

So I have a tot lot around the corner from my house, the question I have is since I can't get into the construction area of the redo, what is the general consensus on the dirt that they removed from the lot and dumped in the parking lot. Keep in mind the tot lot has one of those orange fences around it and I haven't been able to catch the workers as they seem to work a 9-3 job and are not there on weekends. If the dirt is in the parking area and not roped/marked off, is it free game? Thanks,

Tim

I would hunt that dirt today, to try to get it before someone else. Are there any signs posted for Keep Out, etc? If it's just a caution fence, then I'd simply step over and hunt the lot (using caution of course). I'd hit it early on Sat/Sun morning.

I would hunt it all if it does not say keep out. The worst they will do is ask you to leave.

Yet another "code of ethics violator" thanks for doing your part in keeping us rule abiding MDers look good.

The orange "caution" fence is in essence a "keep out" message all on its own. I'm not really worried about that area though, I want to hit the dirt they pulled out. Just wanted to know if it would be something I would need permission to hunt or free game. Thanks for the replies though.

If it isn't fenced in and you have permission to hunt the property, I'd do it.

Hi Bruinvikes,

I did not violate any code of ethics, so that part of your statement is inaccurate.

However, you are correct and I did have a lapse in better judgement in my advice to step over the fence without permission. I think a conversation with the workers should be had before determining whether to step over.

Sorry for the incorrect advice K9cop33. It appears that your concern is in an unattended dirt pile that is not fenced off. I don't see any harm in scanning a pile of dirt at the totlot.
