I was just at Kellyco today checking out all the differnet diggers that they carry, and this was one of them. Needless to say I bought a Lesche. These diggers have a coating on them(black stuff) that hinders any ability fo the ridges to actually do anything. You would have to take the time and need the equipment to sharpen them. The ridges are just little triangles that dont actually seem to do anything other than looks. Stick to the Lesche guys.

I looked at the Garrett digger and stamped on it Made in China, Minelab had one with the same thing Made in China! I have one and I had to bend it back into place after a dig. So I will pass on the Garrett and stick with my tough Lesche.

Default Mine just came in - this is my take on it

Pros:
very well made
sturdy
don't think it will ever bend or snap

Cons:
edges are not sharp

Can easily be modified with a file / grinder

Did a field test today - great tool - 10 minutes with a file and it will be perfect. It easily went through small roots even though the teeth aren't sharp.

$44 after shipping - worth it? I'm sure it will be once I sharpen the tip - like they say: time is money.

Default Verses the other one...

Just put a foam grip over the little red tricycle grip and you have a better tool to carry and it's much easier to twist.
