Default Xterra gets touch sensor pinpointing mod in handle.

The xterra is a very light beast of a detector but having to pinpoint so often my thumb gets tired of switching off and on the pinpointer button. It might have to do with my line of work also using crimpers all day too. Anyways this makes it so I barely have to move my right thumb and it triggers it.

Spreading the rubber grip. It went right back to shape after inserting the switch

Inserting the touch sensor

Soldering the switch to the plug. The plug makes it so I can remove the control box in case I go on a trip or want to tear it down. Heat shrink is used on the solder joints here, they are hiding in the handle.

Here is the control box with plug soldered in. I had to solder the wires for the switch directly to the board of the $700 machine. Lol warranty is up to say the least.

You notice I have a 4 pin plug but only using 2 wires? The other 2 are going into the rod to try and put the batteries in tube below the handle. That is the goal to distribute more weight behind the handle. That's next and the wires are already connected in the brain box. This would also let you load the extra batteries in the box and tube to have 40 hours of non stop swing time.

Here is the location of the switch under the rubber. Works great and barely have to move my thumb.

I could use this on a SE mod I'm doing. Where did you get the sensor? Have you got a part number.

Button works great. Barely have to move my thumb. Got some real world use this morning on a old ball park. Didn't realize how much I use the pinpoint. Plus I do not have to worry about the factory button going bad since its used 10x more than the other buttons

It was made for hidden switch or touch switch. I tried to look for some on google but could not find any. Maybe someone else can find a similar one.
