Default What Is This? Arrow Shape Charm? Silver?

I went on a lunch hunt today. Found about $2 in clad and this Arrow shaped charm with a hole in it. Looks like its wrapped with some gold color metal as well.

Rang up at 4 inches at a solid penny signal on the Ace 250. Its not marked, looks hand made. Weighs 3.7 grams and cleaned up really nice. Put a pic with all the tarnish that came off on the paper towel... Looks like silver. ( I hate testing silver ) Any thoughts on what it could be?

Anyways here is some before and after cleaning pics. HH to all!

Looks cool. I would not think silver would ring up as a penny on the ace. All silver for me was always dime and up. Wonder if you could unwrap the wire and see what either of those ring up as?

I have had silvers ring up in the penny range though. all were marked to. I guess I will have to get it tested.

I found a 1781 Spanish Reale this past Sunday. It was worn completely smooth on the back and all I could make out of the front was a couple words and partial date. It rang in as a 76 on my AT Pro which is solid penny any other time. It was about as thin as your find so it could just be the thickness of the silver isn't thick enough to ring as true silver like my reale...

Good theory about thin silver ringing up as a penny. That's interesting. I will have to remember that.

Nice find JB. No clue what it is. Silver will come in at the penny range though. Especially worn silver...

Default Likley silver

From my experience there are few metals used to make jewelry of this kind. I was at the gems show last month and there were a lot of silver used to make stuff like this. The winding on the end is similar.
Aluminum just don't fit the bill. Do you think could be nickel?
HH and nice job handleing the finds n details...
